NEW DELHI: A gangster was killed while three policemen sustained injuries in an encounter between Punjab Police and criminals, believed to be involved in the killing of singer Sidhu Moosewala, in Amritsar district.

As per the initial reports, the gangsters have been identified as Manpreet Mannu and Jagrup Rupa while the identity of another gangster is yet to be ascertained. The place where encounter is taking place is around 10km from the India-Pakistan border. Police teams from Anti-Gangster Task Force, State Special Operation Cell and Organized Crime Control Unit have cordoned off the area. Announcemts have been made from local Gurdwara asking people to stay indoors. Police sources said the gangsters were also asked to surrender but they opened fire at police.
